Camp Mystic and enjoy a full-featured family resort located on the 250-year-old site of one of Connecticut's first farms.

Mystic campground is close to everything! Enjoy all the attractions in the greater Mystic Connecticut area, including Rhode Island beaches, Foxwoods Resort Casino and the Mohegan Sun Resort Casino. The campground is beautifully situated on a hill among maple and apple trees, with modern facilities. Trailer sales, certified trailer service and parts and accessories are all available on-site.

Camp Mystic and enjoy a full-featured family resort located on the 250-year-old site of one of Connecticut's first farms and provides the best that CT camping has to offer. The prevailing breeze is fresh, clean and ocean-cooled, with a westerly view of rolling wooded hills and magnificent sunsets. Most sites are "drive-thru's," allowing for the easiest of parking, with additional areas offering everything from secluded tent sites to a three-acre field for groups. With our specialty accommodations like our Mystic cabin and Mystic deluxe cabin, you may not even feel like you're roughing it.

Our campground is set in the midst of such classic New England imagery as century-old maples, stone walls, and reproduction colonial architecture. We're also within easy driving to some of Connecticut's finest tourist attractions, including the Mystic Seaport Museum, Dinosaur Place and the Mystic Aquarium.

If you're looking for a Mystic resort that combines the best of classic New England with modern convenience, join us on your next vacation for a delightfully relaxing camping experience.

Helen Simpson has been a 'people person' her whole life. Prior to becoming a campground manager, she worked in real estate sales in her home town of Pittsfield, MA. About 8 years ago, she and her husband, Bob, decided to follow their passion and combine their love of camping with their career.

"The combination is awesome!" says Helen. "Camping has always been an important element of our leisure activities, so we decided to explore the possibility of combining our passion with our work. We try to bring our experience with customer service and camping together to match the wants and needs of our guests."

"We want our campers to have a unique, memorable experience in our park, so that they will return frequently with their friends and families. The campgrounds we have visited and returned to time and again were those that offered fun activities for the family to do together, and inviting, safe surroundings. Clean bathrooms are a plus, too!!" Helen says.

When they're not camping, Helen and Bob enjoy reading and walking on the beach. They are also busy training their dog Fitzy, an English cocker spaniel. He has become the camp mascot, and you will see him riding on the golf cart with Bob throughout the park. He is always ready to greet new guests - pet him and you'll become his friend for life!

Bob also likes to explore the history of dirt track racing and visits the tracks in their area.

    • Summershiners return in 2012

Here at the Mystic KOA, our Summershiners (Christian college students who spend the summer with us) are ready to bring fun to your vacation! It's actually part of their job to create a great experience for our campers - a task they don't take lightly. Whether you're hanging out on our playground or unwinding in our pool, boredom is not an option. These are terrific young men and women who will help make wonderful camping memories for your children. We will welcome our new crew in May, 2012.

    • KOA Campfire Time

When the sun goes down, campfire time begins. Gather around the fire ring and get acquainted with fellow campers. Campfire time promises all the classics: toasting marshmallows, eating s'mores and belting out camp tunes during sing-a-longs. We've even been known to swap a scary story or two! Also join us for interactive live entertainment at the Campfire Theatre. From talent shows to slapstick to game show re-creations, this event relies on camper participation.

    • Mystic Seaport

Mystic Seaport boasts four National Historic Landmark vessels and a re-created 19th-century seafaring village. Visit the world's last wooden whaling ship, a maritime gallery and even a planetarium.

    • Mystic Aquarium and Institute for Exploration

The Mystic Aquarium is "where deep sea exploration comes to life." Visit seals, whales, sharks and even piranhas; if you long for a hands-on experience, visit the Ray Touch Pool. Above ground, one exhibit you won't want to miss is the "Hidden Amazon."

    • Project Oceanology

Project Oceanology is a hands-on education in marine science at a beautiful waterfront location. Go on a lighthouse expedition, an oceanographic research cruise or a seal watch! You’ll have so much fun, you’ll forget you’re learning. Call 860-445-9007 for schedules and reservations. Admission is charged. This attraction is located at the University of Connecticut Avery Point Campus in Groton, ten miles southwest of North Stonington.
